MYDON: Applications

The Nd:YAG laser MYDON is the ideal system for fourpopular applications in aesthetic dermatology: For treatment of vascular skin changes in the face, on body and legs; for gentle skin rejuvenation; for therapy of onychomycosisand for laser hair removal on all skin types.

Treatment of vascular skin changes

MYDON is the specialist for treatment of changed vessels, independent of their color, size and deepness in the skin. Three spot sizes between 1.5 and 5 mm let MYDON adjust to a large variety of vascular indications. This includes:

• spider veins
• hemangioma
• rosacea, telangiectasia
• varices – endovascular therapy

The disturbing vessels often vanish after only one treatment. The 1,064 nm wavelength deeply penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the veins. The high energy heats the vessels and destroys them. The dead vessels are then absorbed by the body.

MYDON can remove varices or varicose veins in endovascular treatments: A sterile fiber directs the laser pulses into the vessels, heating the vessels and sealing them from within. Local anesthesia is sufficient, which makes the treatment much gentler than traditional methods.

Gentle skin rejuvenation with the laser

The Nd:YAG laser MYDON is also suitable for skin rejuvenation. Short pulses at very high frequencies induce warmth in the skin and stimulate the neo-synthesis of collagen in deeper skin layers. This tightens the skin, improves its texture and reduces pore size. The whole complexion is cleared up and refreshed.

Successful therapy of onychomycosis

The Nd:YAG laser even fights persistent onychomycosis by treating the cause of the problem: The laser energy directly targets the fungal cultures creating hyperthermia in the nail tissue, resulting in evident growth inhibition and colonies decay. Afterwards, the nail can grow healthily again. Usually one treatment cycle is sufficient.

Laser hair removal on all skin types (optional)

MYDON permanently removes unwanted hair on lighter and on darker skin types. The laser light of the Nd:YAG laser system with 1,064 nm is highly absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicles and destroys them permanently. Short pulses at high energy levels also remove fine hair very successfully; and even deeper lying hair follicles are reliably destroyed. Two spots with 7 and 10 mm spot size are available.
