High-power LEDs for handling acne and PDT of the skin

The HP 415 applicator, with its built-in water cooling, reaches 10x the light intensity of other standard LED systems.

The handheld applicator HP 415 blue with a handling area of 5.5 x 3 cm will be complemented by a treatment screen, planned around the middle of 2008.

The 415 blue applicators have some decisive advantages, such as:

• high absorption by protoporphyrins and an especially effective photochemical reaction at a low energy density
• effective and fast acne treatment due to the high light intensity
• PDT therapy for selected surfaces
• future expandability of the LEDA system with other applicators, such as the laser-based epilation applicators
