Areas of use of the LED applicator

LEDA HP 370 uva: Applications

The LEDA applicator HP 370 uva is suitable for treatment of UV-sensitive autoimmune diseases of the skin, including

  • psoriasis, also PUVA therapy
  • vitiligo, also PUVA therapy
  • atopic dermatitis (atopic eczema, neurodermatitis)

Narrow-band UVA light is known for its immune-suppressing effects. UV radiation suppresses the immune system and can normalize the immune answer in the skin and thus reduce dermatosis. UVA light deeply penetrates the skin and also reaches the dermis.

PUVA is the therapy with Psoralen and UVA light. Psoralen is a natural substance that can be found in the essential oils of different plants. It is a photosensitizer that can be activated with UVA light and thus enhances the effect of the UVA radiation in the treated areas.

Intense therapy of localized lesions

The handy applicator with its spot size of 5.5 x 3 cm can be applied directly to the affected areas of the skin. LEDA HP 370 uva is therefore ideally suited for therapy of localized lesions such as persistent psoriasis plaques on knees and elbows. Time-consuming radiation of the whole body is unnecessary and the healthy skin is protected.
