Wavelength
IDAS produces a laser beam with a wavelength of 532 nm. Radiation of this wavelength penetrates about 0.1 - 1 mm into human skin, because besides the high diffusion, hemoglobin and melanin absorb radiation of this wavelength. Hemoglobin has an absorption maxima at 532 nm, which makes it the target chromophore when treating blood vessels. The wavelength of 532 nm is especially suited for treating small vessels that carry little blood.
