Wavelength
The 308 excimer system emits light with a defined wavelength of 308 nm. The emission spectrum is no different than that of an excimer laser. As opposed to a laser, the emission is not released stimulated, but spontaneously. The emitted light is not coherent, but has the same medicinal activity as monochromatic coherent laser light.
The ultraviolet radiation stimulates the target tissue an the DNA and protein level. "Sick cells" react more sensibly to these changes and pathologically changed cellular processes are normalized.

The treatment success in the range 254 - 313 nm has been examined in scientific studies. The optimal range is 308 - 311 nm, as there is less erythema while still effective.
The wavelength of the 308 excimer system therefore offers the highest effectiveness with the lowest risks of side effects.
