The 308 nm wavelength of the 308 EXCIMER SYSTEM is ideally suited for the therapy of UV sensitive skin diseases such as psoriasis and vitiligo. Additionally, the system can be used to treat other skin diseases that are based on a dysfunction of the immune system. UVB radiation has an immune modeling effect, which can normalize pathologically changed cellular activities.
Ideal indications for the 308 EXCIMER SYSTEM are persistent, localized lesions. The variable power density reaches from 50 to 6,000 mJ/cm² and can be adapted to the individual patient and findings.
Psoriasis
For psoriasis, the treatment results with the 308 EXCIMER SYSTEM are identical to those of an excimer laser – clinically proven. Thanks to the high power density and the lesion targeting, the 308 EXCIMER SYSTEM is the outstanding treatment solution for therapy of localized, persistent psoriasis plaques on elbows and knees, on hands and feet, and on the scalp. In clinical tests, persistent psoriasis plaques were visibly reduced or even vanished completely after only eight to ten sessions.
Vitiligo
Narrow-band UVB light therapy is said to be the most effective approach for the treatment of vitiligo — with the fewest side effects. The 308 EXCIMER SYSTEM gets results for vitiligo treatments that verifiably match those of an excimer laser. The therapy with the 308 EXCIMER SYSTEM leads to a re-pigmentation of the treated skin surfaces. With the selective application of UVB radiation on the lesions, the surrounding healthy tissue is protected.
Other indications for UVB light therapy
Besides psoriasis and vitiligo, other indications respond well to the narrowband UVB light therapy, including
- hypopigmentations
- alopecia areata
- mycosis fungoides
- diverse atopic eczema, atopic dermatitis
- erythema anulare centrifugum (EAC) and much more.
