Active principle of the laser removal of skin changes

Different laser technologies offer different treatment options for the removal of skin changes:

Ablative laser systems use short, high-energy pulses to ablate the upper skin layers in controlled steps. A new skin surface regrows over this area. Wrinkles and scars are smoothed; pigment changes and benign nevi are completely removed. This usually takes only one or just a couple sessions.

Other laser systems use systematic thermal stimulation of the connective tissue. The laser energy activates the neo-synthesis of skin-tightening collagen and hyaluronic acid in deeper skin layers. The skin surface is smoothed and the unpleasant accessory symptoms of scars such as redness, tenseness and itchiness are reduced.

Both effects also can be combined to achieve the best possible results.

Fast healing, minimal side effects

The laser therapy of wrinkles, scars and benign nevi is nearly pain-free and has only minimal side effects. The laser targets the skin surface without damaging deeper skin layers. Slight erythema and crust building may be visible for a couple of days after the treatment. A treatment based on only thermal stimulation has no visible side effects.
