The fractional laser treatment provides an optimal balance of convincing aesthetic results in skin rejuvenation and minimal side effects.
Young skin without wrinkles, scars and unwanted pigmentations – modern dermatology meets this old desire with innovative treatment options. A very popular though relatively new option is the fractional laser therapy or fractional photothermolysis. The gentle treatment combines excellent results in skin rejuvenation with minimal side effects and fast healing.
Indications for a fractional laser treatment
Fine lines and wrinkles, scars and irregular pigmentations in the face, on the neck and décolleté are ideal indications for a fractional laser treatment:
- skin rejuvenation, skin tightening in case of elastosis
- smoothing of wrinkles
- smoothing of fine wrinkles, especially perioral and periorbital („crow’s feet“)
- macro-pored skin, disharmonious complexion
- acne scars and scars, striae (“Stretch-scars”)
- pigmentary disorders, hypo pigmentations, hyper pigmentations, melasma, chloasma
- keloids
- poikiloderma, actinic skin
Active principle of the fractional laser treatment
A fractional laser treatment gently renews the skin. The laser ablates micro-fine areas of the epidermis, the microscopic ablation zones (MAZ) or ablation channels. These microscopic ablation zones induce a healing process: they are each surrounded by healthy tissue, which encourages fast regeneration of the skin after the treatment.
The laser energy also stimulates the neo-synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid deep in the skin. This tightens, refreshes and balances the whole complexion. The treatment only takes a few minutes – for a facial fractional laser treatment, for example, you should probably schedule 15 minutes.
Fractional laser treatment: effective and gentle
The fractional laser treatment for skin rejuvenation is extraordinarily effective and has nearly no side effects. The small diameter of the ablation zones and the sufficient distance between the zones support fast, scar-free healing of the epidermis. You can see the effects after only one treatment. Further sessions intensify the effect.
Cold air cooling increases patient comfort during the treatment and reduces the risk of pigmentary changes in darker skin types. Patients are back up quickly: slight erythema and edema directly after the treatment disappear after only a few days.
