Scar free removal of age spots and tattoos

Pigment removal with laser and IPL systems

The laser can remove tattoos without leaving scars. Lasers and IPL systems can also remove age spots and other undesired natural pigmentations.

Do you have a tattoo that has lost its appeal? Or would you like to do something about skin pigment changes, such as age spots or café au lait spots? Laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) systems can remove unwanted artificial and natural pigmentations safely, scar free and permanently.

Scar free removal of age spots and tattoos with lasers and light-based systems

What types of pigmentations can be removed with lasers and IPL systems?

Lasers can be used to remove all kind of tattoos and many benign pigment changes, including:

  • tattoos and traumatic tattoos with a wide range of colors
  • professional or amateur tattoos
  • permanent make-up, including challenging colors such as pink or brown
  • solar lentigo, the so-called age spots
  • café au lait spots
  • nevi of ota and nevi of ito, dark-blue pigmentations of the skin, and much more

Natural pigment changes can often be removed in only one or two treatments. Tattoos usually require several treatments depending on the age of the tattoo, the deepness of the ink pigments in the skin and the chemical composition of the ink that was used.

The IPL system is especially suited for photo rejuvenation and removal of natural pigment changes such as age spots.

How does the pigment removal with lasers and IPL systems work?

The light beam passes through the skin surface and the surrounding tissue and unleashes its full effect when it encounters the unwanted pigment or ink particle. The high energy of the light causes the pigment or ink particles to self-destruct and to break up into very small particles. These fragments are partly excreted from the body through the lymphatic system and are partly eliminated directly through the skin as the wound heals.

The procedure is virtually painless; patients generally only experience a slight prickling or burning sensation. The skin surface is protected, the treatment doesn’t leave scars. Pigment removal with lasers and IPL systems are dramatically gentler than traditional methods such as surgery, abrading or bleaching the skin.
