The headquarters of the Quantel Group is in Les Ulis close to Paris with worldwide 370 laser specialists (stand: Dec. 2007). Quantel is noted on the Paris market (Euronext) and had sales of € 42.1 million in 2007 (www.quantel.fr). More than 80% of the production is exported. As an innovative company, Quantel typically invests 10% of its sales in research and development.

The sales are distributed 50/50 between the industrial and medical branches. The Quantel Medical SA in Clermont-Ferrand (France) develops and distributes laser and ultrasound systems for ophthalmological solutions (www.quantel-medical.fr).

The Quantel group has two subsidiaries in the USA: Quantel USA and Quantel Medical Inc. Quantel USA (known as Big Sky Laser until the end of 2007) in Bozeman, Montana produces and distributes laser systems mainly for industrial applications (www.quantel-laser.com). Quantel USA also develops and produces flash lamp systems for dermatological products.

Quantel Medical Inc. (QMI), which is also located in Bozeman, distributes ophthalmological and dermatological products in the USA. WaveLight Aesthetic Inc., the previous US subsidiary of WaveLight Aesthetic GmbH, became part of QMI on January 1, 2008 (www.quantelmedical.com).
